Ooni Gas vs. Wood-Fired Pizza Ovens

The Koda 2 runs on propane, so there's no fire to build or ash to sweep; the Koda 2 brings its stone to 950°F in about twenty minutes. Karu ovens burn split hardwood or lump charcoal. How much does an Ooni pizza oven cost?

Is an Ooni pizza oven worth the money?

If you make pizza often, an Ooni lets you bake at high heat at home. The Karu 2 reaches 950°F and bakes a 12-inch pizza in about sixty seconds.

Is Ooni better with gas or wood?

Gas ovens like the Koda 2 are easier to start and clean up, while wood-fired Karu ovens burn split hardwood or lump charcoal for a live-fire cook. Choose based on convenience versus flavor and fire-tending.

What size pizza can an Ooni make?

It depends on the oven. The Karu 2 has a 13.3-inch stone for 12-inch pizzas, the Koda 2 bakes 14-inch pizzas, and the Karu 2 Pro's 17-inch stone takes a 16-inch pizza.

Is it okay to leave an Ooni outside?

Use a cover if you leave it outdoors. We carry Ooni covers for the Koda 2, Koda 2 Pro, Fyra and Volt, plus a table and oven cover.

Several models are. The Karu 2 weighs 33.6 pounds and the Koda 2 weighs 35 pounds, both with folding legs.
