Choosing the right mini split line set

Match the line set to your system's pipe sizes (listed in each system's specs) and the distance between the indoor and outdoor units. Our insulated line sets come in 16, 25 and 50 ft lengths and include a wiring harness and installation accessories.

  • 1/4" and 3/8": typically 6,000 to 12,000 BTU systems.
  • 1/4" and 1/2": typically 18,000 BTU systems.
  • 3/8" and 5/8": typically 24,000 to 36,000 BTU systems.
  • 3/4" and 3/8": central heat pump systems.

Always confirm sizes against your system's spec sheet, since some models differ. Longer runs may need extra refrigerant added by your installer.

Mounting and finishing accessories

Wall brackets and ground stands keep the outdoor unit off the ground and away from snow, water and debris; choose the size range that matches your system's BTU. Rubber pads reduce vibration and noise, and a line set cover kit hides and protects the lines on the outside wall.

FAQs

How long should my line set be?

Long enough to reach from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit along the planned route, with a little slack. Check your system's maximum line length and pre-charge length in its specs.

Do line sets work with any brand?

Line sets connect by pipe size and flare fittings, so a set with the matching sizes generally works across brands. Confirm the sizes with your system's spec sheet and installer.

Do I need a bracket or stand?

Most outdoor units sit on a pad, wall bracket or ground stand. Elevating the unit helps with drainage and keeps it clear of snow and debris.
