How much does a pavilion cost?

Our Douglas Fir timber pavilion kits start at $5,986 and most run $6,000 to $20,000. Large estate pavilions reach about $70,600. Brookside Timber Frame pricing includes shipping and installation.

What is the difference between a pavilion and a pergola?

A pavilion has a solid roof that blocks rain. A pergola has open rafters or a partial cover for filtered shade. If you want rain cover over a kitchen or dining table, choose a pavilion. See our pergola kits for open designs.

Does a pavilion have to have a roof?

Yes. A solid roof is what makes it a pavilion. Our timber pavilions have gabled roofs finished with metal or shingles.

What is cheaper, a pavilion, pergola or gazebo?

An open pergola usually costs least, because it has no roof. Pavilions and gazebos cost more for the roof and heavier framing. Our cedar grill gazebo starts at $4,199.

What size pavilion do I need?

About 12×12 ft covers a table for six. 12×16 to 16×20 ft fits dining plus a grill or lounge. Go larger for a full outdoor kitchen.

Do I need a permit for a pavilion?

Usually, yes. Roofed structures are more likely to need a permit than open pergolas. Read Do I need a permit for a pergola? and check with your city.
