Grill Heads or Complete Islands

If you are building your own island, choose a grill head such as the Alfresco American Eagle, Artisan Professional, Luxury or Deluxe built-in, offered in Propane or Natural Gas. The Alfresco 42" Luxury Grill Built-In includes a rotisserie with an infrared burner, a smoker drawer and halogen lighting, and comes in a range of colors. If you would rather start with a finished cooking station, Sunstone island packages range from a 5.5 ft grill island to 21 ft layouts, with some offering hybrid gas and charcoal grills. How much does a built-in grill cost?

Built-in grill heads start at $1,899 for the Memphis Grills Elevate 30" Built-In Pellet Grill, and Alfresco built-in gas grills run $2,105 to $20,683. Sunstone island packages with grills included run $7,400 to $27,486.

Are built-in grills worth it?

A built-in grill makes sense if you want a permanent outdoor kitchen with counter space and storage around the grill. If you may move or want less installation work, a freestanding cart grill may suit you better.

How much does it cost to build an outdoor grill island?

Costs vary widely with size, materials and labor. As a reference, our Sunstone pre-designed island packages run $7,400 for the 5.5ft Outdoor Grill Island Package to $27,486 for the Big-Texan 21ft package.

What is the best type of built-in grill?

It depends on how you cook. Alfresco built-ins are gas grills, Memphis Grills built-ins are wood pellet grills, and some Sunstone packages include hybrid gas and charcoal grills.

How do you clean a built-in grill?

Generally, burn off residue after cooking, brush the grates once they are safe to handle, and wipe down stainless surfaces. Follow the manufacturer's care instructions for your model.

Can a built-in grill run on natural gas?

Alfresco built-in grills are offered in Propane or Natural Gas. A natural gas hookup should be installed by a qualified professional; call 512-777-0154 with questions.
