Log Cabin Kits for Sale

We carry log cabin kits from Garden House 24 and Sawmill Structures, from compact cabin pods to cabins over 2,000 sq ft. About half cost under $25,000 for the kit, and the median kit is about $24,500. Choose an open studio, a cabin with a sleeping loft, a 1-bedroom cabin or a multi-room cabin house.

Choosing Log Wall Thickness

  • 44 mm walls: lighter and lower in cost; best for three-season use and mild climates.
  • 70 mm walls: a good all-round choice for year-round use in most of the U.S.
  • 90 mm walls: the most mass and insulation, for cold climates and long stays.

What to Budget Beyond the Kit

Most kits ship flat-packed as a closed shell with doors, windows and a floor. Plan separately for a foundation, roofing finish (roofing cover and gutters are optional extras on many models), insulation, electrical, plumbing and permits. Not sure where to start? How much does a log cabin kit cost?

Our log cabin kits start at $3,399 for a small cabin pod. Most cabins run about $14,500 to $39,000 for the kit. Large multi-room cabins go up to about $200,000. The finished cost is usually much higher than the kit price once you add foundation, roofing, utilities and labor.

Are log cabin kits worth it?

For most buyers, yes. Pre-cut kits cost less than custom framing, go up faster, and solid log walls insulate well. They work best when you plan for the full cost: foundation, roofing finish, utilities and interior work.

Is it cheaper to build a house or a log cabin kit?

A cabin kit is usually cheaper per project, because it is smaller and the walls arrive pre-cut. Per square foot, a finished cabin can cost about the same as conventional building once utilities and finishes are added.

Can I get a log cabin kit for under $25,000?

Does the log wall thickness matter?

Yes. 44 mm walls suit three-season use and mild climates. 70 mm walls are a good all-round choice for year-round use. 90 mm walls give the most insulation and strength for cold climates and full-time living.

How long does a log cabin kit take to build?

A small cabin shell can go up in a few days with two people. Larger cabins take a few weeks for the shell. Foundation, roofing and interior work add time. Each kit comes with step-by-step instructions.

What is included in a log cabin kit?
