Classic Barrel Steam for Four in Pacific Cedar: The Arosa

Golden Designs Arosa 4 Person Barrel Traditional Sauna is a 4-person outdoor barrel steam sauna built from Pacific premium cedar. A 6.0 kW stove with built-in controls comes standard, with an optional 8 kW stove upgrade. A bronze privacy tempered glass door and an interior backrest with accent light make sessions comfortable and private. An interior LED control panel runs the accent lighting, and a sandglass, bucket and scoop are included. The ideal temperature range is 170–185°F, and the sauna can heat up to 190°F.

How To Use

  1. Place the barrel on a level, dry concrete base or wood deck, or on concrete cinder blocks to prevent settling.
  2. Assemble the staves, cradles and bands with three adults following the owner's manual.
  3. Have a certified electrician install the stove per local code (240V / 30 amp for 6 kW or 240V / 40 amp for 8 kW), plus a 120V / 15 amp circuit for the lighting, using copper wire rated 90°C.
  4. Set the stove to your desired temperature, usually 150–180°F, following the stove manufacturer's instructions; do not use it above 190°F.
  5. Press the Light 2 button on the control panel to turn on the light.
  6. Keep sessions to about 5–15 minutes, and exit immediately if you feel dizzy, sleepy or any discomfort.
  7. Turn the sauna off for 1 hour after every 4 hours of use, and never use it during a storm.
  8. Clean the interior with a non-toxic, water-based cleaner, and apply an exterior wood water repellent within a month of assembly and 2–3 times per year.
