Single Zone Wall Mounted Mini Splits

A single zone wall mounted mini split pairs one outdoor unit with one indoor unit on the wall, giving one room its own heating and cooling without ductwork. It is the simplest and most popular way to condition a bedroom, home office, addition, garage, shed or backyard room.

This collection includes Senville LETO, AURA and ELITE series systems and ACiQ Essentials systems from 6,000 to 36,000 BTU, including 115V models for rooms where a 240V circuit is hard to run.

How to choose a single zone mini split

  • Size: as a starting point, 9,000 BTU suits about 400 sq ft, 12,000 BTU about 600 sq ft, 18,000 BTU about 1,000 sq ft, 24,000 BTU about 1,500 sq ft and 36,000 BTU about 2,000 sq ft. Insulation, windows, ceiling height and climate all change the answer.
  • Climate: check each system's minimum outdoor heating temperature if you need winter heat.
  • Power: most systems run on 208/230V; the 9,000 and 12,000 BTU sizes also come in 115V versions.
  • Line set: check the installation kit options on each product and add a longer line set if the outdoor unit will sit farther away.

FAQs

Single zone or multi zone?

Choose single zone for one room or one open area. If you want to heat and cool two to five rooms from one outdoor unit, see our multi zone mini splits.

Do single zone mini splits heat as well as cool?

Yes. The systems in this collection are heat pumps that both heat and cool.

Do I need a professional installer?

Installation involves refrigerant lines and electrical work, so plan on a licensed HVAC technician and check local permit rules.

Which brand should I pick?

Read our ACiQ buyer's guide for a side-by-side comparison of ACiQ and Senville.
