  • Size: under 120 sq ft suits one person; 150–250 sq ft fits two desks or a desk plus a lounge area; 300+ sq ft works as a studio, meeting space or office-plus-guest room.
  • Year-round comfort: 70mm and 90mm walls or insulated (ISO) models, double glazing and a ductless mini split make a backyard office usable in summer and winter.
  • Power and connectivity: plan a dedicated electrical circuit and extend your home network with a mesh Wi-Fi node or buried Ethernet.
  • Foundation: a level concrete slab, pier or gravel base sized to the footprint.
